The above-average joe in your life needs socks and sneakers, but also piñatas.
We’ll be honest, we don’t know your family or your friends, but we do know gifting, and so in the spirit of the season we’ve put the people you’ll be buying for into neat little boxes so that you can figure out more easily what you should buy for them. Meet Jono...
Jono’s a busy guy. We’ll get to more about his social life in a moment, but first, you should know that when he’s not at varsity or out on the town, he’s probably trail running and or volunteering at DARG. That’s right: in addition to being a smart guy, a handsome guy, and a funny guy, Jono’s a nice guy too. So no, sorry, you don’t get to hate on him.
Convinced he’ll never go corporate, he’s chosen sneakers as his footwear of choice, and he’s not going back now. He always thought his love for Roshes was for life, but ever since Kanye namechecked Vans on No More Parties in LA, he’s been trying some new things. Help him on his ways by giving him a pair of kicks that’ll take him everywhere. If you want to get him clothes, go with casual basics that he can switch up and wear wherever, because there’s his social life to consider: you know, all the Tinder dates where he tries to explain his degree and then realises that he doesn’t really understand it either.
And partying? Our boy’s not one to discriminate. Catch him at a sneaky trance jol on Sunday, then up in the club on Long Street for a hip-hop party on Tuesday. And Wednesday. And Thursday.
Then there are the parties at his place: ever since he moved in with his mates Mark, Matt, and the other Matt who everyone calls Rocks (it’s an old joke from Bishops, you probably wouldn’t get it), they’ve thrown them monthly at the digs. Sure, some have already described the events as “legendary”, but you know what would take them to the next level? Piñatas, bro. Get him piñatas, and a inflatable swans for the pool, and stuff that says “party” on it so that everyone knows what’s up. Really love the guy? Think about upgrading his sound. Vinyl is something he could really get into.Jono and his best mates JP and Musa are going to make it big when their app idea gets the right investor, but until then Jono appreciates the little things in life. Cotton socks, new underwear and plain white tees? Sweet, brother. Click through and get him something nice.
