Squeeze in some more summer sun with your favourite seasonal shirt

If you've been paying attention you would've by now invested in either a Cuban shirt, floral shirt, weekend shirt, Hawaiian shirt or some other shirt featuring prints, bright colours, short sleeves and soft collars.
Working with a number of casual summer looks, the summer shirt isn't something you'd traditionally wear to the office, unless your office is a beach shack where you mix cocktails with flair. Or advertising.
However, if like us you've grown fond of the retro classic and have been enlisting it to add colour to your weekend looks, the good news is that you can get in some more wear during the transitional months leading up to winter.
Yep, before you bring out your plaid shirts, denim shirts, work shirts and other shirts in thicker fabrications, learn to use the lightweight summer staple in brave new ways.
Simply swap out the shorts for cropped chinos or washed out denim, tuck in a plain white T-shirt and then layer your choice of shirt over it. For footwear you can't go wrong in fresh white kicks, loafers or even socks and sandals, if you're finding it especially difficult to admit that summer is coming to an end. Otherwise sunglasses go without saying and a baseball cap tops things off nicely. If you need another layer then now's the time to bring out a lightweight jacket. You have got yourself a lightweight jacket, right?
Here's just one example of him wearing the summer shirt as a transitional item, in this case playing with smarter separates.
We'd like to see your take on taking the summer shirt into winter using it as a transitional top.
