Made famous for their everyday essentials and trend-focused fashion, H&M continues to push the fashion boundaries with their H&M Studio capsule collections. These biannual collections are created by dedicated design teams with a high-fashion focus.

Each collection is designed with a core theme in mind and stars the latest emerging talents on the scene to cement the fashion-forward narrative. Previous talents include actress/artist Devon Ross, as well as model/DJ Georgia Palmer.

The latest limited edition collection, dropping in March, takes inspiration from Hollywood’s Golden Age goddesses like Marilyn Monroe and Sophia Loren alongside modern-day megastars. For this reason, H&M have hand-selected Colombian-American singer and songwriter Kali Uchis to star in the campaign. Uchis has become a fashion icon in her own right, with an individualistic fashion sense that blends vintage glamour with modern eccentricities.

SHOP THE STORY

With Hollywood glamour at its core, H&M’s upcoming capsule collection consists of off-duty styles built for a pop star mixed with accessible red carpet-ready looks for any occasion. The design team wanted this season’s pieces to seamlessly transition between everyday fashionable looks so that you can also strike a pose in front of flashing lights.

Ann-Sofie Johansson, the creative advisor at H&M, explains that this collection pushes the envelope concerning colour and different silhouettes. Elaborate and occasion-wear pieces are offset with ‘easy shortcuts to timeless style, such as a leather biker jacket you could wear again and again,” adds Johannsson.

Stand-out pieces in the collection include a bright pink faux fur jacket, rhinestone-embellished sunglasses, a vibrant turquoise bodysuit and a scarlet red bodycon maxi dress. These pieces echo the importance of serving a look even when you’re off-duty running around town.

This limited edition collection is available in South Africa online exclusively on Superbalist.
