It’s safe to say we’re all in need of a bit of pampering so why not bring the spa to your home? We’ve created 5 steps to help you achieve the most relaxing spa experience at home.
Step 1: Engage your senses
The entrance to the spa is always filled with relaxing aromas from scented candles. So, set the mood by lighting your favourite scented candles or spritzing your room with a room spray that will make you slip into a serene state of mind. Choose home-scents that are infused with cedarwood, jasmine, and sandalwood to help restore balance in the room.
Step 2: Elevate bath time
Of course, all good at-home spa sessions should involve a long, hot soak or shower. For a softer and more subtle feeling skin opt for a body scrub with essential oils like grapeseed, citrus, or lavender.
Step 3: Indulge in a facial
The highlight of any spa-worthy facial is proper cleansing. Go for a cleanser that suits your skin to feed it what it needs. Exfoliating is the fastest and most effective way to brighten your complexion. So, after cleansing follow up with a gentle exfoliator to prepare your skin for the main event - the mask!
Step 4: Mask away
Tired and dull-looking skin? Nothing a mask can’t fix. Choose a face mask based on the current issues you’re skin is facing. If it’s oily and prone to breakouts reach for a clay-based or vitamin c mask. Conversely, if it's parched or dry opt for a mask formulated to replenish hydration.
Step 5: Moisturise and massage
After removing your favourite mask, it’s time to layer on some nourishing serums and moisturisers - with the end goal being hydration. Search for those potent with ingredients such as hyaluronic acid, vitamin c, and collagen. These top ingredients will ensure your skin remains quenched and protected. Remember to give yourself a facial massage when moisturising to boost blood circulation.
