Nombuso Mlotshwa, better known as SweeterBrown, was raised in Durban and has long had the desire to share and create music. She moved to Johannesburg for the art and music scene, along with its ability to bring people together. Nombuso started sharing her mixes in 2018 after teaching herself how to mix and then started playing publicly. Not one to label herself as a DJ, she simply makes music that “feels right” with friends, often saying that her love language is sharing music. SweeterBrown has played at Berlin Boys’ For Beat’s Sake and Pop Up Party in Cape Town and her music selection encompasses house, neosoul, jazzhop and R&B.
