This week, our women’s Sneaker of the Week goes to Nike Air Max 270 React Bauhaus in celebration of the German art movement’s 100th anniversary. Drawing inspiration from the highly influential movement’s geometric shapes, asymmetry and bold colour-blocking, the sneaker features an upper adorned with striking design lines and bright colours. The upper base layer comprises white and black panels, while bright yellow, red, powder blue, a black Swoosh and air pockets add striking accents. The React Element 55 and 87 models also influence recognisable elements in the Air Max 270 React design. The exterior heel and extended pull tab are React Element features, the floating eye-stay impresses as one of the sneaker’s most identifiable features and the outsole blends the rivets of the React Element and the horseshoe at the heel. Nike’s design team went for a no-sew construction by tightly layering the materials, giving the appearance of a traditional cut-and-sew aesthetic. Celebrate Bauhaus heritage on your feet with Nike.
