This week's Monday Mixtape is brought to you by Loveslavephola, ending off our Women's Month playlists by women selectors. Known for her smooth and masterly transitions between sounds, the R&B and old-school enthusiast returns with a new mix that captures the freshness and fun of spring to come. We caught up with her to find out the origins of her alias and inspiration and the best thing about being a DJ in South African. Listen to the mix she made for us below, then check out her previous mix and don't forget to follow her on social media to find out where she's playing next. How did you come up with your DJ alias?

My brother used to tease me growing that I "loved" every song that played on Metro FM on Sundays and that’s how Loveslave came about. I then decided to add my first name to it.

What first inspired you to get into music?

My incessant love for it. Music has always played a huge role in my life and I felt that I should share my love for it with those who care to listen.

What music did you grow up listening to and what are you into nowadays?

Growing up I listened to a lot of R&B. I stayed listening to Metro FM on Sundays and weekday evenings. Nowadays, I listen to a mix of R&B, hip-hop and future beats.

What's the best part about being a South African DJ?

Definitely the rise and takeover of amapiano as a genre.

Where can we see you play next?

I’ll be playing at the V&A Waterfront Diesel store on Friday 30 August and at Pantone Sundays at Rooftop on Bree on Sunday 8 September.

What's the vibe of the mix you've put together for us?

It's basically the soundtrack of my anticipation of spring/summer.
