Beauty Reviewed: Stila Glitter & Glow Liquid Eye Shade

Superb staff test the shimmery shadow for payoff

Photography: Glen Montgomery

There are some beauty buys that you purchase blindly and others where you might want someone to let you in on a few things to keep in mind - for the first time around - and eyeshadow is one of those. The worst is picking a palette that looks pigmented and then getting home to realise that getting that colour payoff needs more work than you had anticipated or that need to guard the fallout. So, as soon as Stila cosmetics dropped on Superbalist, we got three of our colleagues to try the loved Glitter & Glow Liquid Eye Shades on for payoff and these were their findings….

Did the colour pop?

Yes it did, in an understated but glamorous way, it gave me an extra edge but without being over the top.

Would you cop?

I most definitely would buy this product it's a great way to evaluate your look that will effortlessly take your outfit it from day to night, if your a busy girl on the go.

Pro-tip for application...?

Get super involved, using your finger as well and really spread the glitter evenly.

The mood that matches the shimmer...?

Did the colour pop?

Oh yes, it’s super pigmented!

Would you cop?

Definitely. I absolutely love glitter shadows and this one is THAT girl ‘cause of its liquid formula – no fallout and maximum payoff.

Pro-tips for application...?

The biggest tip is give her time to dry for a few minutes after application, just to ensure that she doesn't end up gathering at your eye crease. Another one is to choose your transition shade wisely, sus. I'm usually a one shade eyeshadow typa girl but these shadows need some adult supervision; I’d choose a matte nude shadow to chaperone her.

The mood that matches the shimmer...?

Whew chile! The category would have to be “Belle of the Ball, darling”! Definitely a party mood: full glam and no less.
