Discover this week’s selection of silhouettes reinvented and inspired by those of yesteryear
The 90s were a great time for Nike. The brand dropped some of their most iconic silhouettes and two decades later, they keep coming back, reinvented, redesigned, improved and modernised. This week’s drops include the Ultra ‘17 rendition of the Air Max 97 and new Air Huarache colourways. Which pair will you be buying?
Air Max 97 Ultra ‘17 — Particle Rose / Neutral Indigo
Featuring a dusty pink upper, full length Air sole unit and tan rubber sole, these sneakers combine the classic standout parts of the Air Max 97 with a futuristic aesthetic thanks to the breathable overlay that gives the shoe a net-like look. These kicks are a street style fanatic’s dream, plus they’ll go with everything from your favourite skinny jeans and sweatpants to a midi dress.
Air Max 97 Ultra ‘17 — White / Vast Grey
The white-out version has an even more futuristic look and probably requires a lot of sneaker wipes. It also features a full leather upper, mesh underlay, heel and tongue pull tabs and a minimalist look that most people gravitate towards. Save these for the office or a night out when you really have to leave a stylish impression.
Air Huarache — Desert Sand / White-Dark Obsidian
Inspired by the OG Huarache Run, this shoe takes customisation to new levels thanks to its removable laces and straps that leave how you wear it all up to you. The bright blue strap and red eyelets stand out beautifully against the upper’s sandy colour and black side cage system. They feature heel and tongue tabs for easy slipping on and off too.
Air Huarache — Sand / Velvet Brown-Sepia Stone / White
As one of the newest drops from Nike, this colourway gives the 1991 legend a more earthy look. Complete with a customisable lacing system, neoprene and mesh upper and a rubber sole, they’re the ideal fit for the urban explorer. Show them off with rolled-up light blue jeans, a polo neck and camel coat for a look that’s ready to take on low temperatures in style.
