We chatted to some of fashion's finest before the wind came up
By Mandy Nash
The wind was in full force when the #Superbstaff hit the red carpet for yet another fashion week (more about that further down). This time, the setting was amongst Camps Bay's palm trees, azure ocean and Atlantic Seaboard jet-set; almost a world apart from where South African Menswear Week was hosted.
The only constant was the well-dressed, Instagram-ready crowd (follow us on Instagram to see who wore what), and The Way of Us caught up with some of these fashion week regulars, after waiting patiently for a photo-opportunity with Riky Rick that unfortunately never came.
Still, we did manage to catch up with plenty of designers (Cleo Droomer's jacket made from the same fabric as the MyCiTi Bus seats was everything), backstage dressers, photographers and international models (Nina Milner just walked for Vera Wang in New York). Scroll down to become better acquainted with these industry players.
Now you may have heard that the event was called off the following day due to The Cape of Storms living up to its name. Dr Precious Moloi-Motsepe, Executive Chairperson of AFI, has now rescheduled Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Cape Town 2017 for the 6-8th April 2017, this time in an indoor venue that's yet to be revealed. Check back in a fortnight for our actual post-event report and an editorial featuring couture from the shows. In the meantime you can enjoy what did happen, straight from the source.
