Inspired by fearless scream queens, film noir heroines and the dramatic aesthetics of horror movies, H&M Studio A/W 23 is a quest of finding beauty in darkness this season. Glamour accompanies style and suspense to offer wearable pieces that are designed to thrill.

The collection features an achromatic palette enlivened by hints of gold, lilac and turquoise. A dark femininity and reveals itself on powerful and sharp silhouettes softened by pleated bell sleeves, oversized statement collars, Gothic lace and ethereal tulle.

“This season celebrates ten years of H&M Studio, our most directional and fashion-fluent concept, and there are so many special pieces to choose from,” reads the brand’s magazine. Among the gasp-worthy garments are sensibly sculpted blazers, an oversized rhinestone-dusted denim jacket and coordinating extra-wide jeans, a razor-sharp tailored wool coat with strong shoulders and a nipped-in waist, a slinky sparkling mesh dress with a daring centre slit, and a luxe leather maxi skirt and matching zip-up jacket.

The accessories are just as compelling. Punctuating the collection are extra-large statement earrings, an eye-catching glass ring and delicate necklaces. Elbow-length gloves, knee-high square-toe boots and a new version of the cult-favourite padded cushion bag from the H&M Studio archives all come in voluptuous black leather.

It’s a terrific selection featuring durable, high-quality fabrics and more sustainably sourced materials, such as recycled polyester, Tencel, chrome-free leather and post-consumer recycled brass, zinc and steel, with each piece carefully developed at H&M’s Stockholm atelier to be worn and loved for years.

Err on the dark side and dresses to thrill with H&M Studio A/W 23. The collection will be available 28th September exclusively on Superbalist.com.
