Picture this. It’s a sunny day and you're planning to host brunch or dinner for a group of your closest friends. You have a stunning dining area, but it’s still on the wintery side when gazing at the decor. What are you to do? This is the time to bring new life to your space and leave your guests gasping for air when they arrive with a stunning spring revamp.
Since you’re most likely in the midst of spring cleaning already, updating your dining area with some of the biggest home decor trends will make a world of difference in adding new life.
This spring, it’s all about experimenting with various textures, juxtaposing scale and volume plus adding off-the-wall accents for surprises at various corners to spark interest while you entertain in style.

Playing around with various textures is an easy way to create a subtle theme when setting up your dining table without it being too overt. This season, the use of gold, marble and wood offers a balance between a rustic sensibility while introducing Grecian elements which are très chic for spring. The best way is to choose two of the textures to create a balance without having too many textural elements going on.
Furthermore, keeping the general tone warm or cool will give a harmonious look to things. Gold cutlery works best with decorative bowls and trinkets that are similarly rich in tone. The same is applicable for muted tone serveware and glassware. Staying in the same hues and letting the textural difference be the focal point of your dining area is key.

Creating height and width levels when setting up for brunch or dinner parties creates visual interest for the table and the room as a whole. When playing with proportions, it’s optimal to remember that your guests will want to interact with each other and not have their views obstructed while conversing.
Keep vases, candles and decor that have plenty of height to the in-between spaces of chairs. Place wider serving plates, voluminous bowls, and shorter candles next to them. This creates a juxtaposition by playing with scale and volume for visual intrigue.

Tapping into decor trends can be exciting, but you must not forget to bring your personality to the table too. Having unique touches on your dining table while hosting creates conversation starters throughout the day or night. Think kitschy napkin rings, plates with fun designs on them and unconventional serveware. Try and keep the more adventurous options to one of two parts of your setup since these statement pieces should be allowed to shine and not be fighting for attention.
