This month, we’re spotlighting four of some of the most electrifying DJs on the scene in celebration of Pride Month. To kick us off, we’re transported across the continent by Johannesburg-based DJ, Koko Njisane. An avid music lover “who started off as a drummer and now finds herself behind the decks playing sounds from the continent,” Koko specialises in an Afrobeats sound that boasts flair and cultural cache. With sets that have been played at events such as Pantone Sundays, Queertopia, Gbedu Nights and Soundset Sundays, Njisane transcends the concept of space to give listeners a taste of some of the finest music Africa has to offer. Follow her on Instagram, Twitter and Soundcloud for more info on what she does next.
