Podcaster, speaker and founder of Aneno Beauty, Mpoomy Ledwaba, is no stranger to the daily demands of being a wife, a mother and running her own business. With the advent of Covid-19 and its health and safety protocols, just like for most of us, her home is now also her place of business.
“We even created a home office because of our work which, luckily, can be done at home. To be honest I am a homebody so it's been really great for me to be allowed to be creative while still being comfortable and spending time with my family,” she says.
With her new podcast, Wisdom & Wellness with Mpoomy Ledwaba, also in the works, it’s evident that Mpoomy will be spending a lot more time in her home office. And since her upcoming podcast will feature conversations about holistic wellbeing, we thought it fitting to pick her brain about how to refresh your office to benefit mind and body.
“I believe the world is moving in a different direction and we all have to adapt. However, I don’t recommend working in bed or on the couch. It’s important to look forward to going to your workspace, even if it's a corner in your bedroom.”
“It should be a clean space. Get a green plant to bring life, even if it’s fake (lol), buy a yellow chair and hang a pretty quote, but make your home office a space of creativity and ideas that has good lighting and no Netflix.”
Our posture affects so many things and even our productivity. So we need a good chair for physical reasons but it also wouldn’t hurt to have a pretty one to motivate you.”
"All that matters is that you have no clutter. Always work with what you have and make the best of it.”
“One: I keep saying this but a good lamp makes all the difference. Two: stick to neutral colours with the big stuff and add pop of colour with the small stuff. Three: lay down a well patterned mat or rug for character.”
