Japanese heritage x street culture
Inspired by ASICS Japanese heritage, the GEL-LYTE III Modern Tokyo sneaker features the famous stripes of Shibuya Crossing, rumoured to be one of the busiest intersections in the world. Celebrating the 30th anniversary of the GEL-LYTE III OG running shoe, the sneaker emerges once again with its original look and construction featured in the early 90s. The new iteration incorporates the brand's signature GEL technology in the heel to improve shock absorption and help deliver everyday comfort. The colourway does little to revolutionise the original sneaker, except model itself after the massive pedestrian crossing with black and white accents throughout. The pair forgoes typical mesh in favour of a more synthetic fabric with a sheer finish. Elsewhere, prints sit on the sides and the shoe is finished off with a playful tag placement on the tongue.
