A few weeks ago makeup guru and Youtuber Mihlali Ndamase starred in Superbalist’s party-season TVC. While on set we got a closeup of her getting her makeup done and asked for pointers how we could get the look. With the festive season in full swing, it’s important to nail looks that can be pulled off with ease while still packing maximum impact. The 80s are the era of major style inspiration at the moment, so we settled on colourful eyelids as the trend you absolutely must try this party season. It’s simple enough to achieve, makes a statement and is versatile enough to match whatever mood you’re going out in. Blues and greens may be the go-to shades, but you can pretty much go with any colour that matches your fly; the only non-negotiable is the shimmer. What’s festive fun without a little sparkle? The option to offset it with nude lipstick is perfect for when you want to tone the look down, whereas an equally bold lip or winged eyeliner amp up the drama completely.
