Father's Day with the Beckham's

Like stylish father, like stylish son. Here's how to get the look

Who better to look to for a father and son style combination than David and Brooklyn Beckham? Sure, Victoria’s the family designer, and Romeo may have a bright modelling future ahead of him, but of the whole Beckham clan, this pair does the most for menswear inspiration. They’ve also got a pretty great relationship, as evidenced by David begging Brooklyn not to get his first tattoo without him, and then Brooklyn accompanying David to the London premiere of King Arthur to check out dad's film cameo. Take note and cue the collective ‘awww...’

Start with a shirt sans tie and a suit for daddy dapperest, because he wears them well. This look is a great solve for a suit-and-tie guy at a daytime event with a less than formal dress code. David has come a long way from matching leather outfits with Victoria, and now that he has defined his style — contemporary British essentials — he leaves the experimenting to Brooklyn, whose effortless red carpet choice of a t-shirt makes a simple effective statement: It’s dad’s night, not mine. Sweet, man.

Add on suede chelsea boots for dad and stylishly tapered chinos for son. Maybe Brooklyn is channelling James Dean? Or is he projecting the image of an off-duty modern soldier to mirror his dad’s film performance as a medieval one? Either way, we’re fans — this look is as easy to wear as they come.

Finish with on-trend combat boots for Brooklyn and slick grooming for David. Brooklyn’s brown leather belt is also a great finishing touch, arguably necessary for a look so casual and simple.
