Fraiser Road cat-napping

From splashy watercolours to scribbly line drawings, Stephanie Simpson’s works on paper are idiosyncratic depictions of fantastical creatures, animals, places, people and other curious things. She is the “me” in her illustration duo Me and Norman (Norman is an imaginary friend, muse and expert on unusual and peculiar fauna). Simpson’s favourite model is her tabby, who features in many of her black ink paintings, and she tries to make at least one cat painting a day. She lives and works in Cape Town.
