FAQs

How do I choose the right size dining table for my room?

To ensure a comfortable dining experience, you should allow for at least 90cm of space between the edge of the table and the walls or other furniture. This provides enough room for guests to pull out their chairs and move around the table freely. Additionally, each person should have about 60cm to 70cm of horizontal space at the table to avoid feeling crowded during a meal.

Which table shape is best for a small dining area?

Round dining tables are often the best choice for small or square-shaped rooms. They have a smaller footprint and the lack of sharp corners makes the space feel more open and easier to navigate. If you have a long, narrow room, a rectangular or oval table will complement the proportions of the space better while providing more seating capacity.

How do I maintain the finish on a wooden dining table?

To protect the natural beauty of a wooden table, always use coasters for drinks and placemats for hot dishes. Dust your table regularly with a soft, lint-free cloth. For cleaning, use a slightly damp cloth with mild soap, but be sure to dry the surface immediately to prevent moisture from seeping into the grain. Periodically applying a food-safe wood conditioner will help keep the timber hydrated and prevent it from cracking over time.

How many people can comfortably sit at a 1.8m rectangular table?

A standard 1.8m (180cm) rectangular dining table can comfortably seat six people—two on each long side and one at each head of the table. If the table is slightly wider, you may be able to fit up to eight people if you use narrower chairs, but six is the recommended number for a spacious and comfortable dining experience.
