After a very long winter, it's time to experience the summer sun and all the outside activities that come with it. A daytime activity can quickly turn into a full day of fun in the run-up to the festive season, especially when the cameras go pop, pop, pop, pop, pop, pop!

Don’t worry we’ve got you covered to have you looking dope while still feeling comfortable to groove the day away.

Going to a beach party is probably the best part of summer. Whether it’s planning a day out with friends or hitting up your favourite beach bar or restaurant. While showing some skin is high on the agenda you still need items that are versatile, all-encompassing and complements your swimwear. Cover-ups - sheer fabrics, crochet dresses, skirts or caftans - take you from the beach to the nearest beach bar or second location after a pool party. The undisputed combination of resort shirts, swim shorts and slides double up as swimwear so you can enjoy both style and spontaneity.

Gone are the days when markets were simply a morning activity for getting fresh produce, trying a new cuisine or your favourite craft brewery. These endless explorations of flavour, music and recreation have evolved into a full-day affair that goes from a chilled day out to a daytime groove. While comfort is key, some light drip opens up room for ‘next location’ possibilities. Crop tops with cargo pants or baggy jeans coupled with a pair of trendy kicks are where it’s at. Similarly, a pair of dark-wash straight-leg jeans, paired with a graphic tee and a varsity jacket is the way to go.

The best part of summer? Rooftop parties. Who can say no to cityscape views while dancing the day away? Coordinating a rooftop party outfit can be tricky - you don’t want to go full club attire but still want to appear as though you’ve put in some effort.

A vibrant-coloured dress, jumpsuit and flatform shoes will have you looking on-trend but still remaining daytime-chic.

Basketball and cargo shorts with resort wear shirts coupled with shades set the party in motion.

Festivals are back in full swing, along with outdoor concerts that will, indeed, have some of your favourite local and international acts on stage. For these types of occasions, it’s all about sensible style since you will likely be on camping chairs or in a picnic setting. This is a great time to whip out a sundress with a bold print or a flowy maxi dress with comfortable sandals and a statement hat. A classic short sleeve shirt with laid-back shorts is also an option.
