June marks International Pride Month, and brands across the globe are launching campaigns and collections in efforts to support the LGBTQIA+ community. As you head out to indulge in Pride festivities, you may be looking for the perfect look to honour the occasion. We’ve created a list of brands you can shop on Superbalist.com that are putting their money where their mouth is this Pride month.

M•A•C

M•A•C Cosmetics has been Pride-affiliated for more than two decades. From collaborating with members of the LGBTQIA+ community to donating to causes that support the empowerment of these communities. Their “All Ages. All Races. All Genders.” slogan is a clear statement on where this brand stands on inclusivity and diversity in the beauty industry. The brand embraces the fact that all genders wear makeup too.

Converse, pride 2022,

Converse

Known for stepping up and showing off for Pride, Converse has launched multiple campaigns in support of Pride Month over the years, and this year is no different. For Pride 2022, Converse has collaborated with 50 international young creatives for its Found Family campaign. The campaign spotlights the LGBTQIA+ ‘chosen family’ which includes allies and other people they’ve encountered on their journey to acceptance and pride. The stories are told in various mediums such as art, photographs, and letters which are housed in a digital gallery on Converse’s website. Look forward to shopping the accompanying collection that features quilting, graphics, and a gradient rainbow bandana on apparel, headgear, and some of the brand’s most iconic shoes that launched this month.

Adidas, pride 2022,

adidas

The brand with the three stripes has a long history of showing love to the LGBTQIA+ community. Last year’s Love Unites collection featured a variety of Pride-themed footwear and the campaign aimed to spotlight adidas partners who are active members and supporters of the LGBTQIA+ community. This year, as an extension of the Love Unites collection, adidas teamed up with queer artist, Kris Andrew Small, for a vibrant collection to commemorate Pride. Although you can't shop the range on Superbalist, you can add the gender-neutral Pride Tee and Pride hoodie to your Superbalist.com cart.

Vans, pride 2022

Vans

Another brand that continues to commit to flying the Rainbow flag high each Pride month is Vans. With each Pride season, we can anticipate a plethora of queer-aligned graphics and slogans on footwear and apparel, and this year’s Together As Ourselves campaign makes just the statement. Intended to shift narratives, facilitate connections and change policies by amplifying the voices of the LGBTQIA+ community, the campaign puts freedom of expression and creativity center stage. Along with collaborating with queer artists from different parts of the world on creative projects that dissect the issues concerning the queer community, Vans is donating $50 000 (around R800 000) to the non-profit organisation Witness Change, to support the “where love is illegal” movement.

Levi’s

One of our favourite denim brands, Levi’s, is no stranger to celebrating Pride Month. Year after year, campaigns and collections are dropped by the brand in honour of Pride month. Think customised denim jackets, standout T-shirts and statement-making accessories. For this year’s Rainbow Month, Levi’s launched a capsule collection titled The Pride Collection. The collection - an assertion on diversity and inclusivity - comprises a genderless and size-inclusive capsule.

Lottie London

It’s no surprise that beauty brands are intentional about celebrating Pride and empowering the LGBTQIA+ community. Queer people make up a large portion of their customer bases, after all. Lottie London - having launched multiple Pride campaigns throughout the years - is committed to spotlighting the ongoing human rights issues faced by the LGBTQIA+ community. Beauty is subjective and it's a form of expression that is an extension of a fundamental human right - freedom. And what better way to direct attention to causes that affect and impact an expressive community than an opportunity to be expressive through iridescent makeup products?
