And anyone who knows her will agree that few can pull off a quality linen dress, some red on the lips and a gentle mascara quite like her. As a former beauty editor, consultant and founder of The Matte Project, her consultancy that focuses on Black beauty and wellness, we’ve come to know, love and trust her all-round expertise. Since many of us draw beauty and style inspiration from Mathahle, we’ve asked her to showcase her key selections for the season. Here, she shares the three simple style solutions that are carrying her through winter, what she loves about them and why. 

“Anyone who knows me knows I love a good dress. Comfort is key when I'm working or with the kids so this soft, loose fabric works well for me. I love that it's long-sleeved, but can also be easily layered without being bulky.”

“This knit is so versatile. I love that the sleeves give it a more interesting silhouette. I'll be wearing it with everything, because black is still a no-brainer for winter.”
