PUMA x Central Saint Martins
If you could design your own pair of sneakers, how would they look? This is the challenge PUMA gave up-and-coming fashion designers concerned with the impact of climate change. Created in collaboration with fashion students from London's renowned Central Saint Martins college, Day Zero is an innovative collection designed to promote water conservation in the world by reimagining three iconic PUMA silhouettes: the RS-X³, the Future Rider and Ralph Sampson Low. This week we’re highlighting the colourfully updated RS-X³ which features undyed materials, sustainably dyed fabrics and digitally printed accents. These features reduce the amount of water and chemicals used in the production of the sneaker and accentuate its ecofriendly aesthetic. Inspired by Cape Town water shortages, the upper features a stitched water usage map and the signature PUMA RS-X³ silhouette keeps things fun with a bold colourway that’s hard to ignore.
