Riding the electronic wave with Lubonk
This Monday, we feature a mix by Lunga Nhlapo. Better known as Lubonk, he is a self-taught DJ and producer based in Johannesburg. He started his career in early 2014, although his musical aspirations started as early as primary school collecting music with friends and dropping mixes on Podomatic.com. To date, Lubonk has played big festivals locally and internationally, including Ultra Music Festival, Basha Uhuru Freedom Festival, Genesis All Black and House of Vans. The young DJ has also shared stages with top SA artists and groups such as Samthing Soweto, Black Motion, Lemon & Herb and Kususa. As a firm believer in collaboration, he also works with producers who are helping him polish his production skills.
