The Mixtape Vol. 332

Thulani Sam, better known as Aux WoMdantso, is a young gqom DJ from Nyanga, Cape Town, who has been working in the music industry for over 10 years. A regular DJ on youth show Hectic Nine-9 on SABC 2, Aux WoMdantso has performed at many events around Cape Town, sharing his love for Durban-based gqom music. He’s played alongside big names like Black Coffee, Cassper Nyovest, DJ Fresh, Distruction Boyz and Prince Kaybee, to name a few. With a host of venues under his belt, he’s most recently played at Sportscene Capsule Fest, which took place on 26 October at Fox Junction, Johannesburg. Aux WoMdantso says, “The Capsule event is always a turnup and I love that it also tells a story about the youth culture of South African hip-hop, not only focusing on music, but also the art of graffiti, clothing and sport. It also gives local brands the platform to showcase their product.” This week, the talented DJ has put together a mix for us inspired by the festival.
