Remember The Other Girls? The Joburg-based, women-strong collective of all things cool in and around the city for people who like things? That was Nandi Dlepu and her equally fly and entrepreneurial friends. Long a connoisseur of the cool, her latest entertainment-focused venture brings those in the know together at colour-coded monthly events called Pantone Sundays in Joburg and Cape Town and Joburg rooftop parties called Feelgoodseries. Everything comes together under her creative studio, Mamakashaka, which also produces carefully curated content and events for other big and small brands. “I had a nice cushy ad job, but having my son in my life forced me to be courageous,” says Nandi. “I want him to look at me when he’s older and be inspired by me. I want him to have the drive and be motivated to live his best life.
