In case you were wondering, a new Gucci jacket sells for around R40 000. Add a dress and sneakers, a modest tote, and you're looking at a grand total of no less than R128 000. Overwhelming as this information may be, it shouldn't stop you from living your luxury dreams. Getting the look is possible for a whole lot less. Scroll for outfits inspired by Spring 2019 runway looks from your favourite luxury brands. These are the type of low-cost receipts that allow your bank account and personal style to flourish.

Gucci

Just another day in the eclectic life of the modern Gucci woman. Bright summer floral trousers contrast nicely with a check shirt, buttoned down to reveal a bold neckpiece and half tucked to connote ultimate casual cool. Chunky sneakers are a must, playing off the grandma glasses and red bolero.

The easiest way to sum up the Prada spring collection: The attraction of opposites. Mamma Miuccia investigated the relationship between formal and conservative, youth and age, peace and war. As far as shorts go, this is the new it silhouette: a tailored above-the-knee formal take on biker shorts. Contrast strongly with a printed swimsuit as bodysuit (regardless of whether you're near a pool) for a look that's bound to turn heads.

Louis Vuitton

The time-travelling Nicolas Ghesquière served a futuristic (yet digestibly contemporary) jumpsuit that lends itself to almost any occasion. Vuitton-ify with sharp black ankle boots, a great belt and sculptural bag.

Chanel

Chanel goes seaside with super soft pastel printed dresses, straw hats, and shoes carried in hand. If you're the kind of girl who loves the idea of being by the beach without having to wade too deep, you're on Karl Lagerfeld's wave length.

Demna Gvasalia's bold sculptural dresses are here to deliver statement party girl realness. She's loud, proud, extremely fun and just a little bit (intentionally) tacky. She's the girl you want to know. The one you want to sit next to. Of course she's the one having the most fun.
