The girl

Meet former ballerina and avid music fan Aira Ferreira, one of the stars of our Spring campaign. Having only modeled for about a year, it’s kind of amazing that she’s already worked the glossy editorial circuit in France, Italy, the USA and her native Brazil, even walking the runway in both Milan and Sao Paolo’s fashion weeks. With all that time spent away from home it's probably best then that even though she loves dogs she doesn't have one. Aira’s touched down in SA to do a season in Cape Town and is absolutely loving it. We’ve got all her favourite things: Sun, sand and amazing food. As it turns out, you may have more in common with a jet-setting model than you think: When she’s not on set she’s shopping, hiking Lion’s Head, indulging in some hairbrush karaoke or binge watching series while on the phone with her mom. Same bbz, same.

The trend

Aira’s showing off our Spring 2016 street classics, an assortment of athleisure and ‘90s inspired pieces like basketball jerseys and t-shirt dresses. The look consists of light pieces that are heavy on fun patterns, colour contrast, stripes, and athletic influence, making for novel layering combinations. The sporty spin is a perfect match for her personal style - “I like more masculine than feminine clothing,” she says, happily swapping her bodycon number for a pyjama-inspired matching striped set for the next shot on the list.

The key

The slip dress and tee is the key combo - stock up! Accessorise with old school sport socks, retro sneakers or chunky boots, and a ribbon choker. If printed-all-over isn’t really your game, accessories are where you can play - choose animated, emoji-esque and sketch art inspired pieces and ground them with solid black. Aira's fave? The smiley face sling bag. Ease up on accessories and switch to a dark bodycon dress for a night out.
