The Superb Bheki Dube

Meet the man who brought backpacking to inner city Joburg

Having studied photography at the Market Photo Workshop, and hoping to pursue a career in film, Bheki Dube felt his passion shift towards tourism while photographing a series on backpackers.

After founding a local tour operating company, MainStreetWalks, Bheki started Curiocity Backpackers with the man behind Maboneng: Jonathan Liebmann. The hostel is considered the beating heart of the Maboneng Precinct, thanks to Bheki's passion for his city.
