15-year old photographer Willow Borain documents where her teenaged friends sleep

By Willow Borain

If you look carefully you can learn more about a teenager by looking around their bedroom than you might find out from talking with them. Which is kind of how this story came about. After hanging out with Josie and Willow Borain for a My Den story, a flood of flashbacks came crashing in as we stepped into Willow’s loft bedroom. Although a digital native, it was evident that Willow still used her bedroom as her ultimate form of self-expression. And then, because our blog team with an average age of 25 is considered ‘old’ by teenage standards, we decided to get young Willow to embed herself in the type of territory where we’d be faced with a Keep Out sign.
