HOW DO I REACH CUSTOMER SERVICE DURING LOCKDOWN?
Our Customer Service team will be operational during the lockdown from their homes. Our phone lines have therefore been temporarily deactivated. Customers in need of assistance are encouraged to contact us via our contact us form and we’ll do our best to resolve any issues or questions within 72 hours.
IS IT SAFE TO ORDER PRODUCTS FROM SUPERBALIST?
Yes. Superbalist is implementing precautionary measures across the business to mitigate the risk of virus transmission. Shopping on Superbalist also offers a lower risk of exposure than shopping in malls or stores; which is further reduced by contactless delivery or collection. We are following World Health Organisation guidelines, as well as the South African Department of Health directives, to build upon and uphold our current health + safety measure for all staff + customers.
WHAT IS CONTACTLESS DELIVERY?
Enhanced hygiene measures extend to our Takealot Delivery Team drivers who are now required to execute contactless deliveries. Our drivers have been instructed not to make physical contact with any customers and to maintain a safe distance. Packages will be placed on a surface indicated by the customer, the driver will then back away and allow the customer to pick up their package themselves. All drivers will be given access to hand sanitiser with clear instructions to sanitise their hands before and after every delivery. Customers are no longer required to sign receipt of a delivery on any devices. Customers should simply quote their name and details to the driver who will either sign or input any required information on their behalf.
WHAT IS CONTACTLESS COLLECTION?
Enhanced hygiene measures extend to our Takealot Pickup Point branch staff who are also able to execute contactless collection or drop off. Our Pickup Point branch staff have been instructed not to make physical contact with any customers and to maintain a safe distance. All branches have been equipped with demarcated signage. When collecting your parcel you can give your pin number to the person on duty or scan the QR available on your orders page. When your parcel is ready, your package will be placed on the counter and the staff member will step away for you to collect. Customers are no longer required to sign receipt of a delivery or collection on any devices. Customers should simply quote their name and details to Pickup Point staff who will either sign or input any required information on their behalf. Hand sanitiser is also available at all branches for customers and staff.

HOW IS COLLECTION ALLOWED DURING LOCKDOWN?
Following the recent eCommerce directives by the Minister of Trade and Industry, Ebrahim Patel on Thursday, 14 May 2020, Takealot Group has started the reopening of select Takealot Pickup Points across South Africa. Takealot Pickup Points offer customers a safe and convenient alternative to door-to-door delivery, whereby customers who have returned to work, or who are otherwise not able to receive deliveries at home, have the option to choose to rather collect their order from a Takealot Pickup Point near them.
